Policy Issue
This paper generally aimed to investigate how access to child care services enables women’s economic empowerment through labor participation and how transformative care is observed among selected public and private child care facilities. It specifically intended to (1) examine the capabilities of childminding facilities, services, and good practices afforded to women’s economic participation; (2) identify key factors that facilitate and challenge women’s economic activity in the communities; and (3) provide recommendations and interventions for policy and program development, particularly in enhancing women’s economic participation, empowerment, and welfare.
