QUEZON CITY – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting workplace safety and enhancing disaster preparedness among its personnel. In line with this mission, the Institute has rolled out a series of proactive measures this month, underscoring its dedication to the welfare and security of its employees.
As part of these initiatives, ILS distributed Go Bags containing essential emergency supplies to all employees. These provisions are designed to help personnel stay prepared and supported in the event of natural disasters, unforeseen incidents, or other emergencies. Alongside this, an inspection of safety helmets was also conducted to ensure that staff members remain equipped with functional and reliable protective gear.
Further highlighting its preparedness efforts, ILS actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last 11 September 2025. Conducted in accordance with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 27, Series of 2025, the drill enabled employees to practice evacuation procedures while allowing safety officers to assess the Institute’s readiness. The activity reinforced a strong culture of safety and vigilance across the workplace.
To further strengthen its resilience, ILS has also developed its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), which outlines operational actions to be taken in response to various incidents that may impact organizational outcomes. The PSCP will guide the Institute in mitigating risks, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of services, and implementing continuity strategies for essential functions. The plan is targeted for public release by the 4th quarter of 2025.
